Introduction
Hi, first of all, thank you for visiting our yoga and meditation website. It means a lot to us that visitors like you have chosen our site to explore morning meditation. Today I want to talk about morning meditation — a topic that is very close to my heart, as it has removed many negative aspects from my life. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I had not meditated.
Exploring The Meditation Journey
Over the years, I have observed how the mind changes— – negativity, judgments and the ego gradually disappear. In the beginning of my practice, I used to feel offended when someone did not like my method, but now I do not feel that way anymore. Equanimity has taken root in my mind so that everything feels balanced. Today in this blog I’m going to talk about why you should practice meditation and why it’s so important.
Years ago, people were discouraged from sharing their meditation journey online because they thought it might boost their ego. I agreed and avoided sharing my experiences. But now I know why I want to share my journey with you. Others need to know that there is a way to find peace and avoid the daily suffering of life. I feel selfish keeping this message to myself, especially because I only found out about meditation through online research. This is my story, and I believe it can help you make informed decisions and show you that life isn’t all about unhappiness or depression — it’s about letting go and finding inner peace.
Why Should You Meditate in the Morning? – Morning Meditation Magic
Many years ago, I was an anxious, moody and stubborn person. I am not ashamed to say out loud that I was not at my best in that state. Every day felt like the world was on fire and every situation seemed to consume me. Interactions with people felt like conspiracies.
Think about it — how horrible would life be if you were faced with the same problems every day? Who would want to live like that? Unfortunately, this is the reality for each of us, even though we may not realize it. Our mind is chaotic, it creates stories and dramas in our head, and unfortunately we become victims of these dramas every moment. How can we overcome this? How can we find peace?
Meditation has been the savior in my life. When I heard about a free meditation camp, I immediately signed up. At the time, my head was full of questions and dogmas. But attending this meditation camp changed my life forever. The problem with meditation is that we don’t initially realize that we have problems that we need to address.
The whole picture of the mind is a makeshift drama, and if you do not free yourself from it, you stay in the dark — possibly for years, lifetimes or births. Enough of my story for now. Let us dive deep into today’s topic, the morning meditation, why you should do it and how you should do it. I hope I have answered your first question now, so let us move on to the next part of the topic.
How to Meditate in The Morning? – Morning meditation magic
To answer this important question, you need to understand that meditation is a practice that can grow on you and become part of your daily routine. The method you choose should match your preferences and style. When a style of meditation resonates deeply with you, you will know that this practice can lead you out of the darkness.
You will find many people on the internet suggesting different styles of meditation. However, I believe that you should find your own way, otherwise you may not stick with it. In my life, I have explored many such practices and one day it clicked in my heart and I realized that this was the way out of my darkness.
If you want to know what method I am talking about, I will be happy to tell you about it. But first I would like to introduce different styles of meditation that exist today. As I have not practiced all of them, I do not want to evaluate any method, but simply introduce them to you. The information is here for you to explore, and your choice should come from the heart.
Different Types of Meditation Practices

- Mindfulness Meditation
- Vipassana Meditation
- Loving-Kindness (Metta) Meditation
- Transcendental Meditation
- Zen Meditation (Zazen)
- Mantra Meditation
- Chakra Meditation
- Guided Meditation
- Body Scan Meditation
- Kundalini Meditation
- Qigong Meditation
- Tonglen Meditation
- Sound Bath Meditation
- Focused Meditation
- Movement Meditation (e.g., Yoga, Tai Chi)
- Visualization Meditation
Each of the above meditations has its followers and practitioners. I have not practiced all the methods, but I am comfortable with the one I am currently using and it has worked for me so far. Let us understand what meditation really is. Don’t complicate it with stories, powers or makeshift miracles, meditation is a training method that helps you understand your mind. What is the mind? Who are you? Are you real? All of this understanding comes through the practice of meditation. Through meditation, you erase your ego-self. It’s up to you to choose your path from here, but I encourage you to meditate daily because it’s the only way to find peace and reduce drama in life.
Benefits of Morning Meditation (Or Meditation in General)
There are numerous health benefits to a regular meditation practice. In this section, I will discuss what benefits you will notice with consistent practice.
Patience:
If you sit in a meditation posture for a long time, you will eventually realize that you have developed patience. The same situation that would have previously made you angry now seems to have less effect on you; however, too much pressure on you can bring back the same old habit. However, you see a glimpse of the light. What could it do for you at its peak?
Emotional Balance:
On the surface, these words may sound less effective to you, but emotional balance is vital in life to have less drama in your daily functioning. By practicing regularly, you will understand that everyone you meet is just like you, they suffer from life moment to moment and can only express in words what they are feeling at that moment. You, on the other hand, can understand that this is a state of mind.
This knowledge and understanding will change everything for you. You will have a happy life, without mood swings and mood changes. Over the years, your mood swings will disappear and your state of being will remain at the same level: peaceful and blissful, kinder and more welcoming.
Concentration and Focus:
Another aspect you will notice is that your overall concentration has improved dramatically. The more you practice, the more superhuman concentration you will develop. Remember, just because you train your mind to focus on an object does not mean it’s a miracle; it does the same thing in your daily life. What would a better focused mind do for you? Guess what? The mind will no longer be your boss; it can not command you to watch YouTube videos while you are doing an important task. It will lose control over you, and the original you will become the operator of yourself.
Compassion and Empathy:
Have you ever noticed that some people are naturally kind? When you talk to them, you will feel their kindness; they express themselves in a way that shows they care about you. It is the compassion in them that gets your attention. Compassion and kindness can also develop in you. It is the natural state of our mind; we simply have baggage that needs to be cleared to expose the diamond within. Once you uncover it, you will see that you will develop more kindness and compassion for others. It’s not a miracle; it’s just you, the original you, without the drama and past baggage of yourself.
Control Fear and Panic:
If you suffer from stage fright, you know the feeling of how your body reacts when you go on stage and address a topic in front of random people that you are not sure you can handle. This is a panic or anxiety situation that many people deal with all their lives and they do not know how to overcome it. Here I would want to tell you that meditation can help you to control anxiety and panic. There are meditation methods that help to overcome these fears. With years of practice, you will overcome all your fears and past habits that were holding you down. It is a feeling of freedom from the darkness of life.
Sleep Quality:
A quality meditation practice improves the quality of sleep. Long hours of practice reduce the amount of sleep you normally need. If you needed 8 hours of sleep before, you may only need 7 or 6 hours of sleep after a quality practice, depending on the extent of your practice.
Mindfulness for Life:
Do you know what mindfulness is? The word mindfulness is so ubiquitous these days that sometimes people do not even know what they are talking about. Mindfulness means being aware of your thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations in the present moment. When you are mindful in the present moment, the world spins differently, it can not control you with its drama because you are paying attention to it. ‘attention’ – remember the word, it’s the main hero of the story, the mind wants attention; if you know that, half the battle with yourself is yours.
More benefits:
High-quality meditation offers you so many benefits that it would take a long time to list them all. Remember, however, that the benefits are not the goal of meditation; they are the by-products of your practice. You are doing the practice for a completely different reason. That’s another story; I will tell you about it another time in another blog.
Research on the Benefits of Meditation
In this day and age, there are numerous scientific studies on meditation and its benefits. Meditation used to be an integral part of the Indian lifestyle. In India, scholars have studied the mind for thousands of years. They developed the process of meditation, the process by which one can improve one’s life and find answers to unanswered questions. One such figure was Gautama Buddha, whose story is a true inspiration to many.
I have been a faithful follower of his ideas and one cannot deny that Buddha never prescribed dogma; he encouraged practitioners to find the truth for themselves rather than believing in the scriptures or the higher authorities of the day. The truth must be recognized by oneself in order to understand how the universe works and what role one plays in it.
From today’s perspective, we can see that many research papers have been published on meditation and its benefits. All papers seem to indicate that meditation brings us positive results on a daily basis. Below are some of the research articles that have been published on meditation practices. You can check them out for reference.
Morning Meditation Practice for Beginners
If you are ready and want to start with a simple meditation practice, then I am providing you an audio file of meditation teacher S. N. Goenka ji. His prescribed practice is Vipassana meditation. However, you will not be practicing Vipassana meditation; before Vipassana meditation, there is another step to calm the mind, Anapanasati meditation. This meditation process and its steps are described by S. N. Goenka ji himself so that no doubts arise in you.
This is the first step in the process. My job is to bring you closer to the truth; once you reach there, it is your job to follow the steps shown by the Master to come out of the darkness. There should be no dogmas on the spiritual path; you should choose your path. If your heart feels that this is not the right path for you, you will not stick to it. Details about Vipassana meditation practice are available online. However, I will go into the details here soon. For now, just start with the Anapanasati meditation practice.

How to Set Up a Morning Meditation Routine – – Morning Meditation Magic
Like any good habit, the meditation habit becomes a routine when you maintain it over a long period of time. In the beginning, however, it can be difficult to keep up the daily practice, so start with a small meditation session. Once you get used to it, you can increase the duration of the session.
However, if you ask me, I suggest that you do a long-term meditation retreat. A longer meditation retreat will help you get over the initial phase and get you attuned to the practice. With a longer duration, you will also understand the technique in depth and build confidence in your practice, which will result in you becoming more resilient when the thought of giving up daily practice occurs to you.
Is it okay to be Imperfect?
Of course, we are human and we are imperfect. It’s a long road, and it will only continue if you accept the mistakes and try again until you get used to them. Those who meditate seriously tend to criticize themselves a lot in the beginning if they miss a session or make a mistake while meditating. At such moments, remind yourself that it is a habitual pattern of the mind and it shows its face. If you stay committed, you can always overcome the hurdles.
When Is the Best Time to Start Morning Meditation?
I can only suggest what has worked for others and what I have experienced myself. I have found that it is best to start meditating after waking up in order to keep it up and not miss a session. The first hour of the morning is the best time to practice, which is also the title of this blog. Of course, you can add more sessions in the future, but for the first few times, the morning hour is the best time to practice.
Who Can Benefit from Morning Meditation?
Everyone can benefit from morning meditation. Anyone who has bad habits and wants to improve their life and well-being can benefit from morning meditation. Always start with a short duration and follow the guidance of an authentic meditation teacher. A pure meditation process can change your life for the better.
What is Vipassana meditation? (A Brief Introduction For Those Who Are New to This Meditation Technique)

“Some do not understand that we must die, But those who do realize this settle their quarrels.” – The Buddha
Vipassana meditation is one of the oldest techniques in the meditation tradition. It used to be practiced in India, but was lost over time. Later, Gautama, the Buddha, rediscovered it 2,500 years ago and shared it with everyone to free them from the darkness and evils of the universe. The technique of Vipassana is a method of self-observation through which self-transformation occurs.
To understand the Vipassana technique and how to practice it in life, I will soon write an article in the blog section. In this article, I will give details on where to find the retreat center, how to sign up for it and what preparations are required. Please note that this section is written here because I have made the Anapanasati meditation available as an audio. Those who do not understand it can read a brief introduction to the technique in this section.
